Day with books - Büchertag

Wir haben Frühling - endlich. Die Sonne kommt wieder raus und das macht mich ziemlich glücklich nach den langen Wintermonaten. Finally spring is here. The sun is out way more often and I am so happy about that after all those grey winter months.

Ich habe sehr lange hier nichts mehr geschrieben und lange überlegt, ob ich wieder anfangen soll oder nicht. Ich habe diesen Blog begonnen, als die Kinder klein waren und ich ihr Lernen dokumentieren wollte. Auf diesem Weg haben wir alle vom Leben und vom Lernen gelernt und das war sehr schön. Dieser Blog wird weiterhin ein Online-Tagebuch bleiben, indem Du persönliche Einblicke in unser bzw. mein Leben finden kannst. Ich freu mich sehr, dass ich mich jetzt mit dem Schreiben wieder wohlfühle und es wieder anfangen möchte und Du bist herzlich willkommen, Dich mit mir auszutauschen.

I haven't written this blog in a very long time and I have thought about restarting it for quite a while now. Years ago I created this blog when the kids were little and this was supposed to become a documentary of their learning. In the meantime we all learned as a family - by learning and from life and we loved it. This blog is still going to be an online diary which offers you as a reader personal views into our or my daily life. I'm very happy to start blogging here again now and I welcome you to exchange views and experiences with me. 

Hier wird die Bücherliste angelegt - Mumpel is writing her book list

Mumpel hatte heute die Idee, eine Bücherliste anzulegen, von alle den Büchern, die sie im letzten Jahr gelesen hat. Sie hat sich dafür ein Epochenheft rausgesucht und alle Bücher, einen riesigen Berg, auf unserem Eßtisch gestapelt. Am Ende war sie ganz erstaunt, dass die Bücherliste ganze drei Seiten umfasst und noch gar nicht fertig ist. Manchmal ist es doch ganz sinnvoll, so etwas sichtbar zu machen, denn sie war der festen Überzeugung, sie hätte nur ein paar wenige Bücher gelesen.

Mumpel had the idea of creating a book list of all the books that she had been reading throughout the last year. She grabbed a booklet and took all the books she read out of our bookshelf and put them onto our dinner table. In the end she was really astonished about the amount of books she read. Her list is now three pages long and she hasn't yet written down all the books she read. We learned how much sense it can make to take a closer look at things and create such a list to become aware of things. Before she created the list Mumpel was sure that she had only read a handful of books - at the most!

Fachwissen ist gefragt - Expertise for my son

Rob hat sich die Fachbücher seines Vaters geben lassen, um sie sich anzuschauen und sich vorzubereiten. Er hat sich dazu entschieden, im nächsten Herbst mit der Ausbildung zum Tischler zu beginnen und es war sein Wunsch, sich vorzubereiten. Da er öfter schonmal mit Thomas in der Werkstatt ist und die beiden sich oft und gerne über Fachthemen austauschen, können die beiden zusammen schonmal das ein oder andere vorbereiten bzw. ausprobieren und die Theorie mit der Praxis verbinden.

Rob wished to take a look at his fathers expertise books and work through them as he decided to become an apprentice for joinery next year in fall. He likes to be in Thomas' workshop from time to time and work with him or talk assignments through. This way the two of them can combine practical knowledge with the theory of the profession and try out a couple of things. 

Tagebuch schreiben - Writing my diary

Während die Kinder ihre Themen durchgegangen sind, habe ich mir ein paar Minuten Zeit genommen, mein Tagebuch zu schreiben. Ja, ich habe auch noch ein ganz normales Tagebuch, das mit online nichts zu tun hat sondern in das ich so richtig reinschreibe. Ich mag das einfach, Seiten schön zu gestalten und alles runterzuschreiben was so passiert. Es hilft mir, meine Gedanken zu ordnen und ist ein schöner Habitus, finde ich. Davon abgesehen mag ich einfach die Tätigkeit des Schreibens sehr gerne. Schreibst Du auch Tagebuch oder ist Dir das völlig fremd?

While both kids were busy doing their stuff I took the time to write my diary. Yes, I also have a diary which has nothing to do with online but in which I actually write with my pen. I like creating pages in a beautiful way and just like the act of writing. It helps me sort out my thoughts and it has become a nice habit over the years. Schreiben und Malen bzw. Seiten verzieren gehören für mich beim Tagebuch schreiben zusammen - Writing as well as drawing is what belongs together in a diary in my opinion

Meine Lieblingszeitschrift - wie klischeehaft :-) (Werbung!) - My favorite magazine - what a cliche :-)

Meine Mutter hat mir vor Kurzem jede Menge Zeitschriften mitgebracht, vor allem ihre alten und gelesenen Landlust Zeitschriften. Da ich sie mir nie selbst kaufe, freue ich mich besonders, wenn meine Mutter sie mir aufbewahrt und ich sie lesen kann. Heute morgen habe ich als erstes einen Kaffee getrunken und darin geblättert. Es macht mir immer Spaß, zu schauen, was man alles aus seinem Garten so machen kann. Vielleicht berührt mich das derzeit auch so sehr, weil wir im Moment keinen Garten haben - ach was heißt im Moment - schon lange nicht mehr. Ich habe darüber auf meinem anderen Blog geschrieben, wenn Du magst kannst Du hier zum Artikel "Mein Garten und ich" kommen.

A couple of days ago my mom gave some of her magazines to me that she had already read. I never buy them myself so I am happy when she collects them for me to hand them over when she is done with them. This morning I sat down for a couple of minutes, had coffee and browsed one of these magazines, called Landlust (WERBUNG). I love to watch photos of other peoples gardens to get new ideas for my own garden. Maybe I love looking at such magazines so much at the time because I haven't had a garden for a long time and I miss my garden very much.
