Wir wünschen Euch allen ein fröhliches Weihnachtsfest mit Euern Lieben! Wir vier haben gestern bei Oma und Opa gefeiert und hatten einen ganz schönen Abend zusammen. Heute sind wir alleine und kochen gemeinsam Rouladen, Rotkohl und Klöße, ein ganz traditionelles Weihnachtsessen eben. Ich freue mich immer auf diese Zeit um Weihnachten herum und zwischen den Jahren weil es die einzige Zeit im Jahr ist, in der es spürbar ruhiger wird. Was habt Ihr schönes gemacht, wie sieht Euer Weihnachtsfest aus?
We wish you all a merry christmas and a good time with your loved ones! The four of us celebrated christmas at grandma and grandpa's house yesterday and we had a really nice evening with the family. Today we are on our own and we cook together: we'll have roulades with red cabbage and potatoe dumplings, a traditional german chrismas dinner. I'm always looking forward to this time of year as it is the only time of year that everything and everyone slows down and times are so nice and quiet. What have you done for christmas, what does your christmas look like?
Dieses Jahr ist ein richtiges Wichteljahr. Ich habe meiner Mutter einen Wichtel geschenkt mit passendem Buch dazu über die Tradition der Wichtel in Schweden und einer Übersetzung des Originalen Tomte Textes. Meine Schwester hat uns diesen Bauchhohen Wichtel hier geschenkt, in echt sieht er noch viel imposanter aus als auf dem Bild. Er steht neben unserer Couch, ihr könnt erahnen wie groß er ungefähr ist.
This year has been the christmas year of imps it seems. I got an imp for my mom and gave it to her together with a book about swedish stories of imps and a little history about why the swedish like them so much and a translation of the original Tomten text (which is a philosophical text about an imp in sweden). My mom loves these swedish traditions. My sister then gave us this huge imp which reaches up almost to my chest actually. He is standing right beside our couch so you might be able to imagine how big he is.
Thomas hat diese große Feuerschale für den Garten bekommen. Die wünscht er sich schon seit Jahren. Heute abend haben wir sie erstmalig ausprobiert und alle waren begeistert. In der Kälte vor einem Feuer stehen ist immer irgendwie gemütlich.
Thomas got this fire pit for the garden for christmas. He had been wishing for this for years and now he got it. Tonight we tried it out for the first time and everyone loved it. Making a fire in the garden during this cold weather is always nice and kind of cosy.
