Seit letzter Woche hat Mumpel ein neues Projekt. Sie wollte endlich ein neues, gutes Skateboard haben, damit sie mit ihrem Bruder zusammen fahren kann. Sie hat sich im bekannten Titusshop im Internet also eins selbst zusammengestellt und dann bestellt. Rob hat ihr dabei geholfen, damit hinterher alles zusammen passt. Natürlich muss es ein cooles Skateboard sein, deshalb geht selbstverständlich nur eins mit Totenkopf drauf.
Mumpel has a new project she is into since last week. She wanted a new and good skateboard so she can use it during the summer together with her brother who is also into skateboarding. She searched the internet to find the parts she wanted to put herself a board together and Rob helped her with it. Of course having a skateboard has something to do with being cool so it had to be a cool motive and what could be cooler than a skull?
Auf dieser blauen Seite wird das Grip tape befestigt, damit man einen ordentlichen Stand hat und nicht so schnell mit den Füßen abrutscht. Das coole Motiv sieht man also von oben nicht mal, das ist auf der Unterseite. :-)
They fixed grip tape on the top of the board so slipping off is not happening too fast and the cool skull motive is on the ground side.

Werkzeug wird auch gebraucht. Das wollten die Kinder eigentlich bei Opa leihen gehen doch praktischerweise haben sie Papa's Mitarbeiter getroffen, der gerade unterwegs zum Kunden war und ihnen aus dem Bus das Werkzeug gegeben hat.
The kids actually wanted to borrow some tools at their grandparents house but on the way there they met dad's workers who were just on their way to a client and they gave them the tools they needes.
Ich finde, das ist eine schöne Aktivität für die Kinder für den Sommer. Sie fahren jetzt oft mit ihren Freunden aber sie fahren auch zusammen und haben somit ein gemeinsames Thema. Am Wochenende waren wir in einem recht großen Skatepark, wo man alle möglichen Kunststücke ausprobieren konnte. Dort waren ganz viele Jugendliche und es war schon teilweise beeindruckend, was man mit einem solchen Rollbrett alles machen kann. Trotzdem habe ich jedesmal Schweißausbrüche bekommen, wenn wieder einer mutig die Rampe hoch gefahren ist und das Board alleine wieder runter sauste während die Kinder versuchten, sich im Laufen abzufangen und nicht hinzufallen. Tja, wie Mütter eben so sind, den Kindern hat es großen Spass gemacht. Thomas war auch mit und fand es auch prima, denn er ist früher mit seinen Freunden auch immer Rollbrett gefahren.
I think skateboarding is a nice activity for the kids for the summer. They like to meet with friends and they also have an interest that they both have together as siblings. At the weekend we've been to a rather big skatepark at which they were able to try all kinds of different feats. A lot of kids and teens were there using the park and some of them obviously have been at the park quite often. It was impressive to see what you can do with a skateboard. Still - I got the sweats several times watching my kids rolling up the high ramp and losing the board which rolled back down without them on it while the kids tried to not fall onto the asphalt which can hurt pretty badly. Well, I guess that just belongs to a mother's life. Rob and Mumpel had great fun and Thomas too. He used to have a skateboard and do little tricks with it with his friends when he was Rob's age.
Thomas und ich waren diese Woche auch nicht ganz untätig, wir haben in der Werkstatt an unseren Schneidebrettern aus Holz weitergearbeitet.
Thomas and I haven't been inactive this week either, we have worked on our wooden cutting boards in the workshop this week.
