About one year ago when we listened to a song from AC/DC my son asked me if I had any idea what this beautiful instrument was the guy was playing. "Sounds like an electric guitar" I told him and he looked at me with this bright smile on his face asking: "Can I play this, PLEASE!" So we found a teacher for him - which took a while - and from then on he is playing his electric guitar and quite often tells me he wants to be a rock star. I love the fact that after more than one year he still enjoys playing. 

What happened next was that Mumpel ran into our living room one afternoon declaring real self-assured: "I want to play an instrument too!" But after looking at different instruments it was clear that she didn't really know what exactely she wanted to play so we just kind of stuck to the thought and took a break on searching. One day she saw a boy playing a cello in the room right next door to Rob's guitar course and decided that was what she wanted. The teacher saw her and asked her if she would want to take a look and she just smiled big time and  nodded her head. She just loves to bow on the cello. I am so proud of my kids to have initiated this on their own and of the fact that they show interest in music. 

Vor ca. einem Jahr, als wir ein Lied von AC/DC im Radio gehört haben fragte mich mein Sohn was denn das für ein tolles Instrument wäre das er da hören würde. "Hört sich wie eine E-Gitarre an" sagte ich ihm und er strahlte mich an und fragte sofort ob er das auch spielen könne. Also haben wir ihm einen Lehrer gesucht und seitdem spielt er E-Gitarre und sagt mir des öfteren dass er Rockstar werden will. Ich finde es einfach toll dass er nach über einem Jahr noch GERNE spielt. 

Als nächstes kam Mumpel eines Tages ins Wohnzimmer gerannt und verkündete lauthals sie wolle nun auch ein Instrument spielen. Nachdem wir aber nichts so wirklich gefunden haben was ihr sofort zugesagt hat haben wir den Gedanken erst mal für eine Weile ruhen lassen. Eines Tages sah sie, während wir auf Robin warteten, der gerade Gitarrenunterricht hatte, im Raum nebenan einen Jungen Cello spielen. Die Tür stand auf und sie stand lange da und guckte mit grossen Augen. Der Lehrer bemerkte es und fragte sie ob sie sich das Cello vielleicht mal angucken möchte und sie hat ohne zu zögern mit dem Kopf genickt und war sofort begeistert. Nach der ersten Stunde sagte sie mir sie liebt es  mit dem Bogen über das Cello zu streichen. Ich bin so stolz auf meine Kinder dass sie sich für die Musik interessieren und sich ihren Unterricht in Eigeninitiative organisiert haben.
