Day in nature - Tag in der Natur

Today we had a green health booster for breakfast. This smoothie contains spinach, pineapple, mango and banana and it was really yummy. 

Heute gabs zum Frühstück erstmal einen gesunden grünen Smoothie aus Spinat, Ananas, Mango und Banane. Lecker!

The kids wanted to play soccer but the lawn was too high grown so they decided to do some lawn mowing before playing. First time Mumpel does this and her brother shows her how to do it. 

Die Kinder wollten heute Fussball spielen doch das Gras war ihnen zu hoch. Also Rasenmäher raus und los. Mumpel macht das zum ersten Mal, ihr Bruder zeigt ihr wie man Rasen mäht. 

The highland cattle is back on the field right in front of our house again. During the last two months the farmer had them on a different field further away from the house and we're all happy to have these huge and beautiful animals back :-)

Die Hochlandrinder sind wieder zurück auf der Wiese am Haus. Die letzten Monate haben sie weiter weg am Waldrand verbracht und wir sind alle ganz froh sie wieder in der Nähe zu sehen :-)

Stamps and a visiting grandparents - Briefmarken und ein Besuch bei den Grosseltern

Last weekend we visited grandma and grandpa and Rob and Mumpel's grandma always has the most beautiful christmas decoration all over her rooms. These christmas gnoms become more and more each year, the kids love them, don't they look too cute :-)

Am Wochenende haben wir Oma und Opa besucht und Rob und Mumpel's Oma hat ihre Räume immer mit den schönsten Weihnachtsdingen dekoriert. Diese Wichtel hier werden von Jahr zu Jahr mehr, die Kinder finden sie ganz toll und sie sehen doch auch wirklich nett aus :-)

We were invited to a traditional german sauerkraut meal that grandpa cooked with handmade mashed potatoes and sausage. It was delicious, thank you grandpa! And grandma had several napkins with animal motives on them that the kids took home to do some decoupage with them. 

Wir waren zum Sauerkraut essen eingeladen. Opa hat gekocht und dazu gab es Kartoffelstampf und Würstchen. Das war sehr lecker, also hier ein Dankeschön an den Opa-Koch! Und Oma hatte den Tisch mit Servietten mit Tiermotiven gedeckt. Diese durften die Kinder mit heim nehmen, um damit Serviettentechnik zu machen. 

So after spending the saturday at my parent's house we went to a meet of stamp-collectors on sunday. We had found out about this meet when we were at the book shop last week and Mumpel right away said she'd really like to go there. She collects stamps, especially the ones with animal motives on them but she likes other motives too .

Nachdem wir also den Samstag bei meinen Eltern verbracht haben, sind wir am Sonntag auf einer Briefmarkenbörse gewesen. Letzte Woche in der Buchhandlung haben wir einen Zettel mit der Veranstaltung gesehen und da hat Mumpel gesagt sie würde dort sehr gern hingehen und schauen, ob es dort Briefmarken mit Tieren gibt. Die mag sie am Liebsten. Doch auch die anderen Motive gefallen ihr. 

 

And guess what they had a unit for young philatelists with many many animal motives. We spent almost two hours there although it was a small meet but both kids were totally busy with looking at all the stamps, they said afterwards it felt like only half an hour. They were allowed to pick stamps they liked and take them home and also were given albums to put them into. 

Und tatsächlich gab es auf der Börse einen Stand für Kinder, der ganz viele Tiermarken hatte. Die durften die beiden nicht nur angucken sondern auch welche auswählen und mitnehmen. Dazu bekamen sie sogar noch Alben geschenkt. Wir waren ganze zwei Stunden dort obwohl das ein kleines Treffen war. Doch die Kinder waren so sehr mit den Briefmarken beschäftigt. Nachher sagten sie, es wäre ihnen vorgekommen, als sei höchstens eine halbe Stunde vergangen.

Monopoly, paper arts and knitting - Monopoly, basteln und stricken

We've done a variety of things today. Mumpel and I played Monopoly for hours, that is one of her favorite board games at the time. After a while she had built so many hotels that I was completely broke. No wonder, I visited her hotels nearly everytime I came round. Mumpel was happy and I found out we've got quite a good business woman in the family. :-)

Wir haben heute verschiedene Dinge gemacht. Mit Mumpel habe ich stundenlang Monopoly gespielt. Das ist ihr Lieblingsspiel zur Zeit. Nach einer Weile hatte sie so viele Hotels gebaut, dass ich pleite war. Kein Wunder wenn man die Hotels bei jeder Runde besucht! Mumpel war glücklich und ich habe rausgefunden, dass wir wohl eine ganz gute Geschäftsfrau in der Familie haben. :-)

In der Zwischenzeit hat Rob diese Papiertiere gebastelt und fand es sehr lustig, der Spinne Füsse mit Zehen anzukleben

In the late afternoon I even found some time for knitting as the kids were playing. I love knitting very much although I am no genius at it. But unfortunately I have problems with my neck when I knit so my projects are taking a while before finished. That is ok though, I enjoy it.

Am Nachmittag habe ich sogar die Zeit gefunden, ein bisschen zu stricken. Ich liebe stricken, obwohl ich alles andere als ein Genie darin bin. Dummerweise bekomme ich davon schnell Nackenschmerzen, so dass meine Projekte bis zur Fertigstellung immer viel Zeit brauchen. Aber das ist ok, ich stricke einfach gern.
